I saw someone looking out the window, the morning I felt younger than I was I put your last words inside my pocket the vowels started leaking through the gauze and I slapped you in the face but you didn't feel a thing so I cried on behalf of your loss and I turned around and ran yeah I ran right out of georgia and I fell at the sign of the cross I felt something weighing in my pocket the morning I felt older then I am I had learned to jump when needing jumping to swim when needed swimming so I swam and my holy water's dirtier than money but I sprinkle it all over birmingham I'll keep going on until you tell me honey honestly I never game a damn and I saw a lovely face reflected on the highway so I ran and took the cover from my fate I ran right into georgia with my fingers in my pocket and nearly tripping from the tenor and the weight as I rolled back in to town my feet were getting heavy and my leg and hand could hardly hold up straight with my shoulders weighing down on a body of a weaken by a story I am doomed to narrate I found something hidden in the floorboard the morning that was younger than the day folded hands upon your chest in mourning for the wood already started to decay and I made a storm of dust when I blew it off your casket in the basket full of flowers where you lay and I ran right out of town yeah I ran right out of georgia and I swear I heard you sing your last hoorah, hooray hooray hooray hooray
