Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SongVerses (“SongVerses”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit https://www.songverses.net (the “Site”). SongVerses is a free, read-only catalog of song lyrics, guitar tabs and chords. We do not offer user accounts, and you can browse the Site without registering.
1. Information we collect
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and service providers receive standard log data (IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, date and time). This is used for security, abuse prevention and aggregate statistics.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential — used for security and basic site functionality.
- Analytics — to understand aggregate traffic and improve the Site.
- Advertising — to display ads and, where you consent, make them more relevant (see “Advertising” below).
How consent works. If you visit from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we display a consent message from a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) before any analytics or advertising cookies are set, and we use them only if you agree. From other regions, these non-essential cookies may be set by default; you can opt out of personalized advertising using the links in the “Advertising” section below. You can review or change your choices at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
3. Advertising and Google AdSense
We display advertising to keep the Site free. We use Google AdSense and may use other advertising partners.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- In the EEA, UK and Switzerland we collect consent through a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) before advertising cookies are set; if you do not consent, you may still see non-personalized ads.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. For more options visit aboutads.info/choices or, in the EEA/UK, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure aggregate, non-identifying usage of the Site (such as which pages are popular) so we can improve it. Analytics storage respects your consent choice as described above. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy.
5. Embedded content (YouTube)
Song pages may embed videos from YouTube (a Google service). When you play an embedded video, YouTube may set cookies and collect data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy.
6. Service providers and third parties
We rely on trusted providers to operate the Site, who process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies: hosting and content delivery (our cloud host and CDN), Google AdSense (advertising) and Google Analytics (aggregate usage measurement). These providers may process data in countries other than your own.
7. Legal bases (EEA/UK/Switzerland)
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or the Swiss FADP applies, we process data based on: your consent (analytics and advertising cookies, collected through a Google-certified CMP); and our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention and basic aggregate statistics). You may withdraw consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, California’s CCPA/CPRA, or Brazil’s LGPD), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not require accounts and keep minimal data, we may hold little or no personal data about you. We do not sell personal information; some sharing of advertising identifiers via cookies may qualify as “sharing” or “sale” under certain laws, which you can control through the “Cookie settings” link and the opt-out links above.
9. Data retention
Server and analytics logs are retained for a limited period for security and statistics, then deleted or anonymized.
10. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. International data transfers
We and our providers may process and store information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, may provide a more prominent notice.
13. Contact
