I presume it's the result of an effect. The Closest i can come to this sound is to slide from d to d (3rd fret to the 15th fret on the b-string) and give the thing a tremendous vibrato and slide back. I'm not very effect or tremelo minded so maybe someone can tell what is happening here. Maybe I'm hearing more than there is.
