My Comfort

Intro: Another sunrise and a new beginning fills the skies New hope that comes from dreaming fills my heart Joy that cannot be explained is mine today And it seems as if there’s nothing that can tear this hope apart But in the course of life and living there’s one thing I've found All the times the dreams I dream coming falling to the ground And it seems the only purpose my dreams serve at all Is to set me up again to take another fall It’s in times like these when I just can’t understand I can take hold of God’s unchanging hand He’s my comfort when no comfort can be found He is my fortress when I’m seeking higher ground He’s my refuge when the storms of life are closing in on me He’s the shoulder I can always lean upon He is my closest friend when it seems all friends are gone I don’t know what’s ‘round the bend I know I always can depend on Jesus, Jesus A new day begins and disappointments cloud your view And you long to know the joy that life can bring Dreams you dream have long ago faded away And you’re searching for a reason for a song to sing But in God’s holy Word there is a promise I have found We’re more than conquerors through Him, His love abounds And we know that God is working for the good of those who are called And He’ll be there to pick you up when you fall So neither death nor life or any powers present or to come None can separate us from God’s love He’ll be your comfort when no comfort can be found He’ll be the fortress when you’re seeking higher ground He’s a refuge when the storms of life are closing in on you He’ll be the shoulder you can always lean upon He’ll be your closest friend when it seems all friends are gone You don’t know what’s ‘round the bend Know that you always can depend on Jesus, Jesus, Jesus My sweet Jesus When I don’t know what’s ‘round the bend I know I always can depend on Jesus
